We are a family-run business based in Axminster, Devon, specialising in the bespoke design and manufacture of timber doors, windows, staircases, kitchens, garden rooms and conservatories. From our 5000 square feet of workshop space, we have the craftsmen and equipment to produce anything in wood.
With over thirty years’ experience as an architectural joiner, Graham served a five year apprenticeship whilst working for an established joinery company in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. For three of those years, he studied for his City and Guilds in Archetectural Joinery, as a day release student. He has worked and lived in the area all his life. He enjoys passing on his skills and knowledge, working closely with students at The Princes Trust in the past. He now employs apprentice's and takes great pleasure in guiding them through their NVQ and joinery career. In addition, Graham employs a dedicated team of joiners whose photos are coming soon.
Claire and Graham have been married for seventeen years. She assits Graham both in the workshop and on-site when she is not working in her full time role as a Manager for a large National Company.
From machining timber, to sanding and putting the finishing touches to products, Claire has over 18 years experience in the joinery business. They make a great team!
The couple love to holiday in Cornwall, particularly walking the North coast paths and beaches. They are keen campers and enjoy the outdoor life.
Together, they have recently completed a house refurbishment. A personal project, extending a humble two bedroom property into two seperate apartments which now boast a total of five bedrooms.
Sean is 18 years of age and Graham’s nephew. It was by chance that they were matched through Exeter College when Sean was looking for work experience to accompany his thirty-month Apprenticeship, an NVQ in Site Carpentry and Architectural Joinery. He spends one week at college a month, the rest of the time he works hands-on in the workshop as a semi-skilled assistant.
‘Graham is great to work for. He is very patient and makes me feel more confident every day in what I am doing.’
‘The best thing about this job is seeing a project through the whole process. From the timber on a shelf to the finished project.’
Vinnie is a rescue Staffie/Beagle cross, who goes to work with Graham everyday. He is a much loved member of the family.
